Outdoor Experiences for Spring
A unique Great Lakes marsh is the centerpiece of this 86-acre park along the Galien River. Elevated walkways provide an up-close look at the rich flora and fauna, and a 60’ tower offers majestic views. All walkways are ADA accessible.
Our beaches offer majestic views and fresh lake air in every season. Long ago dubbed ‘The Gateway to Michigan,’ New Buffalo marks the start of a nearly 16-mile stretch of continuously accessible Lake Michigan shoreline, offering ten public beaches within a 15-minute drive.
A National Natural Landmark, Warren Woods’ 3.5 miles of trails guide hikers through a rare climax forest and sleepy river floodplain. Featuring silvery smooth beech maple as tall as 125’, this is one of our most stately and hushed hiking spots. Birders enjoy the river trail in spring, made even more lovely by the seasonal groundcover of wildflowers.
Drink like a local and discover all the distinctive flavors of Harbor Country. Sip a cocktail made with artisan spirits at our local distillery, toast the good times with a pint of Michigan craft beer or follow the wine trail to relaxation and beyond.
